I live with my husband near by the city of Raahe, but in the peace of countryside. When I was a child we had a Rottweiler in our family. I felt that the Rottweiler is the breed for me. Life went otherwise, when I saw Golden Retriever male Waterloo’s Seaway To Hiekkakankaan called ”Väinö”. He was owned by Sari Harju (Mäkiharjun goldens) and Tuula Jokela (Hiekkakankaan goldens) and searching home for his pension time. So Väinö moved to us. With Väinö I took part in some dog shows. One of the best memories is the Veteran of Veterans Show in Helsinki 1999. Väinö passed away in May 2002. He was the reason I found my own breed. In July 2002 I got Mäkiharjun Mainio Maija as co-owned dog with Sari Harju. With Maija I took my first steps in the world of many dog activities. Tracking trilas is the most famous activity for me. At the moment we have three daughter´s of Maija living with us: Mette, Sini and Sole. The basic course for dog breeders, organized by The Finnish Kennel Club, I graduated in 2003. The next level of the course I passed in 2008. My breeder name Meringue´s was awarded to me in 2009. At the same time I signed the commitment of dog breeding with The Finnish Kennel Club. I thank Sari for all the help she has given to me in dog breeding knowledge. Main purpose in my breeding work is to produce such Golden Retrievers, which fill well the requirements of breed standard and are capable to do their original work as hunting dogs too. I work as a farm management adviser in ProAgria, which is an agricultural expert organization in Finland. I graduated Bachelor of Natural Resources in 1997. I have also graduated as a professional horse groomer. Nowadays I unfortunately have not enough time for horses because the dogs take all my free time.
